Gints Freimanis (born May 9, 1985 in Saldus ) is a Latvian football player .

Career

society

Gints Freimanis started his career in 2005 at FK Ventspils . Without any league involvement in the 2005 season , but with winning the Latvian Cup , Freimanis changed clubs after just one year. From 2006 he played for a year in Rēzekne with RSK Dižvanagi , who later renamed himself to the SK Blāzma Rēzekne . In the 2007 season , a half series was active at FK Jelgava and FK Jūrmala . Freimanis moved from Jūrmala at the beginning of 2008 to the Latvian capital for FK Riga . Another year later he played twice for St Patrick's Athletic in the League of Ireland . From 2010 to 2011 he was again under contract in Latvia and was active for two seasons for FK Jelgava, with whom he won the 2010 cup. In the 2011/12 season Freimanis played for the German league club FC Pommern Greifswald with which rose to the Oberliga Nordost . After a season in the league, he moved back to FK Jelgava, with whom he won the 2014 and 2015 cup in Latvia.

National team

Gints Freimanis made his debut in the Latvian national team in May 2014 in the final of the Baltic Cup against Lithuania . From October 2014 to September 2015 Freimanis played five times for Latvia in qualifying for the 2016 European Championship .
