Giorgio Roda

Giorgio Roda (born March 18, 1994 in Como ) is an Italian racing driver .

Family and education

Giorgio Roda comes from a family of industrialists and racing drivers. His grandfather Giuseppe Roda (1925–2007) founded Rodacciai in Como in 1956, a steel wholesaler which his father Gianluca currently runs. Gianluca Roda (* 1959) and his brother Davide (* 1972) were active as amateur racing drivers for many years. In addition to his older brother Andrea , Giorgio also started racing. While Andrea became a professional racing driver, Giorgio Roda first studied business administration in Milan and worked in the family business.

Racing career

After starting out in karting , Giorgio Roda's driving career began in 2011 in Formula Renault and Formula Abarth . 2014 he moved to the GT racing and won the Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 of AF Corse , the GTC class of the International GT Open . In 2017 he drove a Ferrari 488 together with his father and Andrea Bertolini in the European Le Mans Series and made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2018 . He was a partner of Khaled Al Qubaisi and Matteo Cairoli in the Porsche 911 RSR of Patrick Dempsey . The race ended prematurely due to engine failure.
