Andrea Roda (born April 11, 1990 in Como ) is an Italian racing driver . He started in the Auto GP in 2013 and 2014 . He is the son of Gianluca and the brother of Giorgio Roda .

Career

Roda's motorsport career in formula racing began in 2006 in the Italian Formula Junior 1600. Following the season, he took part in the winter series of the Italian Formula Renault for Tomcat Racing . In 2007 Roda stayed with Tomcat Racing and started in the Italian Formula Renault, where he remained without points. He also took part in four races each of the Swiss Formula Renault and the winter series of the Italian Formula Renault. 2008 Roda denied another season for Tomcat Racing in the Italian Formula Renault. He scored points for the first time and was 26th in the drivers' championship. In 2009 Roda moved to the BVM Minardi team within the Italian Formula Renault . With a podium placement, he improved to twelfth place in the drivers' standings. In addition, he took part in three Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup events for the racing team and took part as a guest starter at an international Formula Masters event .

In 2010 Roda switched to the Italian Formula 3 championship for RC Motorsport . He finished his debut season in 22nd place. In 2011 he switched to the Prema Powerteam within the racing series . While his team mates Michael Lewis and Raffaele Marciello took second and third place, Roda improved to twelfth place in the drivers' standings. In 2012 Roda received a cockpit for the Formula 3 Euro Series at Jo Zeller Racing and he was also entitled to points in the European Formula 3 Championship . Roda was 13th in the Formula 3 Euro Series and 12th in the European Formula 3.

For the 2013 season Roda switched to the Auto GP at Virtuosi Racing UK . With two fourth places as the best results, he reached twelfth place overall. Internally, he asserted himself against Max Snegirev . In 2014 Roda stayed with Virtuosi UK and was the only driver of the team to contest the entire season. Roda won a race and was on the podium five times. He finished the season in fourth place overall. In 2014 Roda also took part in a Formula Renault 3.5 race for Comtec Racing .
