content
The young Count Enrico Bardi, son of a landowner in the Maremma , is furious because the girl Ginetta does not give in to his rough advances and is responsible for the death of a young cattle herder to whom she devoted her attention. The old Count Bardi tries everything to avoid a scandal, but cannot prevent the reaction of the village teacher Zenda, who now wants to point out the unfortunate situation of those working for the feudal lords. Working with Walter, a reporter, they manage to get the herders to go on strike. In the meantime, after another refusal from Ginetta, Enrico has decided to kidnap her, killing a poacher who wants to help the girl. The incident sparked a clash between strikers and shepherds on the Count's side, in which Enrico was killed. His death marks the beginning of better relationships between the old count and his cowboys; Walter's love for Zenda is confirmed with a wedding.
