Bernard attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and played for their team, the Tar Heels, college football for two years , scoring 33 touchdowns .
NFL
In the 2013 NFL Draft , he was selected in the second round as a total of 37th by the Cincinnati Bengals . In his rookie season he was used in all games. In 2014 he was the Bengals' starting runningback, but was replaced by Jeremy Hill the following year . Due to his variable game - he is always good for a touchdown in both running and passing games - he nevertheless remained an important part of his team's offense .
