Giovani Carlos Caldas Barroca (born February 14, 1969 in Brasília ) is a Brazilian Roman Catholic clergyman and appointed Bishop of Uruaçu .

Life

Giovani Carlos Caldas Barroca studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Nossa Senhora de Fátima seminary in Brasília from 1987 . He received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Brasília on December 3, 1994 in the Brasília Cathedral . Caldas Barroca then specialized in Biblical Exegesis at the Centro Universitário Claretiano .

On February 8, 1995, Caldas Barroca became pastor of the parish of São Miguel Arcanjo in Recanto das Emas . In addition, since June 18, 2016, he has been Episcopal Vicar for the Leste Vicariate and since April 8, 2019, Parish Administrator of the parish of São Francisco de Assis in Recanto das Emas. In addition, Giovani Carlos Caldas Barroca taught logic and philosophy at the Nossa Senhora de Fátima seminary in Brasília, at the Seminário Redemptoris Mater and at the theological faculty in Brasília. He was also a member of the Council of Priests , the Council of Bishops and the Diocesan Pastoral Council of the Archdiocese of Brasília. Caldas Barroca also founded the Catholic Community of Vida Nova .

On June 17, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Uruaçu.
