Giovanni Campani

Giovanni Campani (born June 6, 1820 in Siena , † September 5, 1891 ibid) was an Italian pharmacologist .

From 1830 he attended the Arcivescovile seminar in Siena and from 1831 studied pharmacy at the Collegio medico there . In 1847 he received his doctorate from the University of Siena . In 1850 he received the chair of pharmacology at the school of Santa Maria Nuova in Florence . Between 1850 and 1854 he had the opportunity to visit scientists in London, Paris, Lyon and Marseille, where he increasingly turned to chemistry. In 1860 he was appointed professor of general chemistry at the Pisa-Siena University.
