Giovanni Francesco Guerrieri (* 1589 in Fossombrone , † September 3, 1657 in Pesaro ) was an Italian painter.

Life

His father Ludovico Guerrieri was a doctor of law and from 1587 to 1617 a notary and Podestà of Mombaroccio , his mother was Vittoria Draghi. In Pesaro, where he said he was staying in 1605, he got to know the works of Giovanni Giacomo Pandolfi and Federico Zuccari . In the same year he moved to Rome, where he was in the service of the Borgia from 1610 to 1618 . His first signed and dated work is from 1611, a depiction of St. Mary Magdalene as a penitent . Until his death he created a large number of paintings depicting biblical and religious subjects for many churches in the Marche .

He was buried in the Church of San Domenico in Pesaro.
