Giovanni Revedin Di San Martino

Giovanni Revedin Marquis di San Martino (born November 2, 1904 in Ferrara ) was an Italian diplomat .

He was the son of Maria Concetta dei Marchesi Torrigiani (1881–1962) and Pietro Antonio Revedin, Marquis de San Martino (1876–1954). In 1939 he married Margherita Trimble.

Career

In 1927 he graduated in law from the University of Urbino . On July 1, 1926, he was made a lieutenant in the cavalry .

On June 1, 1928 Giovanni Revedin joined the foreign service. Until 1946 he was employed in London , Paris , New York City , Ottawa , Budapest , Cairo and Bratislava . From October 28, 1928 to September 30, 1929 he was Vice Consul in Budapest. On April 1, 1929, he was appointed consular officer. On May 6, 1930 he was appointed Vice Consul in Ribeirão Preto .

From 1 April 1947 to 15 June 1951, he was charge d'affaires at the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers in Tokyo . From 1955 to 1957 he was ambassador to Tirana , then until 1963 ambassador to Tel Aviv . From July 5, 1964 to May 3, 1967 he was ambassador to Kampala . On July 7, 1964, he was co-accredited to 1969 in Nairobi and took up residence there.
