Girolamo Domenico Antonio Frigimelica de 'Roberti (born January 10, 1653 in Padua , † November 15, 1732 in Modena ) was an Italian architect , poet and librettist.

Girolamo Frigimelica came from a noble Padovan family and carried the title of Count. From 1691 to 1720 he was director of the public library in his hometown of Padua. He was a member of the Accademia dei Ricovrati . Due to family disputes, he later took up residence in Modena . As an architect, he designed palaces and churches in Padua, Vicenza and Modena, including the plans for the final construction phase of the Padua Cathedral . His most important building is the Villa Pisani (Stra) , which was completed by Francesco Maria Preti after his death .

In addition, he wrote the first 11 libretti for the Teatro San Giovanni Crisostomo, today Teatro Malibran , which were set to music from 1694 to 1708 by Carlo Francesco Pollarolo , Alessandro Scarlatti , Antonio Caldara and Luigi Mancia. The most successful pieces were premiered at the Teatro Obizzi in Padua. His libretti for the opera seria by Apostolo Zeno , Francesco Silvani and Adriano Morselli are also significant . All of his libretti consist of 5 acts and deal with historical and mythological events.
