Gitta Rost

Gitta Rost (born June 4, 1943 in Schilda , married Gitta Sommerfeld ) is a former German badminton player .

Career

In Tröbitz she learned the badminton game in the BSG activist Tröbitz . For this club she also achieved all of her national successes. After a silver and bronze medal at the junior championships in the Cottbus district, she worked her way up to third place in the Cottbus district rankings for adults in 1962, behind Hildegard Gude (Weißwasser chemistry) and Gisela Lange (structure Calau). With the women's doubles title win of the district in the same year, she also made her breakthrough in the first team of the Niederlausitzer Verein. In 1964, 1965 and 1966 she was a regular player in the GDR championship team from Tröbitz. After the birth of her son Ralf in 1967, she ended her sporting career.

She still lives in Schilda today .
