Peter Schurig

Peter Schurig (* 1949 in Tröbitz ) is a former German badminton player .

Career

After winning a silver medal in 1963 together with Werner Michael and a gold medal in 1964 together with Roland Riese in the men's doubles in the junior division, he was only fifteen years old and became a regular in the league team of activist Tröbitz . With the team he won the GDR team championship in 1965 and 1966 alongside experienced players such as Gottfried Seemann , Gerolf Seemann , Erich Wilde , Klaus Katzor , Rita Gerschner and Annemarie Fritzsche . After that, however, it became quiet around him due to his professional training in the sporting field.

Peter Schurig lives in Lübbenau today .
