Live and act

Few facts are known about Giuliano Tiburtino's life. In 1543 he was mentioned in Chapter XVI of the treatise Lettione seconda pur della prattica di sonare il violone d'arco da tasti by Silvestro Ganassi as a capable violon player . Ganassi particularly praises Tiburtino's ability to sing the upper part in a madrigal while playing two lower voices on the instrument. Tiburtino is recorded as a singer in the papal chapel for the years 1545, 1552 and 1564.

Tiburtino's works, a mass and 12 madrigals , can be found in the collective print Musica diversa a tre voce , which was printed in 1549 by Girolamo Scotto (1505–1572) in Venice. 13 instrumental works by Tiburtino can be found in Scotto's collection, Fantasie e recerchari e tre voce . A single work can be found in Philippe Verdelot 's third book of four-part madrigals.
