Willi Götz (born September 20, 1947 ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Willi Götz played five games for SV Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga in the 1970/71 season . He made his debut under coach Robert Gebhardt on the 2nd match day in the away game against Kickers Offenbach . In his second Bundesliga season Götz came to seven other Bundesliga games, in which he remained without scoring. So he moved to league rivals Hannover 96 in the current season , but was not used there until the end of the season. He left Hanover and moved to Olympia Wilhelmshaven . Olympia played in the northern season of the 2nd Bundesliga . Götz scored 15 league goals alongside striker partners like Hans-Peter Gummlich , Claus Brune and Werner Schaar , making him the team's most successful goalscorer. Despite his goals, the league could not be held, Olympia was relegated and Götz switched to Bundesliga relegated Wuppertaler SV . In Wuppertal, he scored twelve goals in his first season, in the second he added 16 goals at the side of his strike partner Rainer Budde (23 goals). Wuppertal took third place under coach Herbert Burdenski in the final table of the 1976/77 season , so the promotion was just missed. Götz played at WSV until November before moving to Bayer 05 Uerdingen . Uerdingen played in a league with the Wuppertal team. Götz played the season that had just started, started the new 1978/79 season in Bayer's jersey and finished as runner- up under coach Horst Buhtz . He had scored a goal in eleven games alongside teammates Paul Hahn , Hans-Jürgen Wloka , Friedhelm Funkel , Franz Raschid , Wolfgang Lüttges and Jan Mattsson . On June 14 and 20, 1979, two relegation games took place between the runners-up from the southern and northern seasons of the 2nd Bundesliga to determine the third promoter to the Bundesliga. In the first leg at SpVgg Bayreuth (1: 1) Götz was substituted on in the 68th minute. In the second leg in Uerdingen, the attacker was substituted in in the 70th minute of the game with a score of 1: 1 and scored the decisive goal in the 85th minute for the 2-1 success and thus Uerdingen's promotion to the Bundesliga .
For the round 1979/80 he played in the jersey of SV Arminia Hannover . For the team from the stadium on Bischofsholer Damm Götz played 16 games in the second division (one goal) and ended his career as a professional footballer in the summer of 1980. He then played two more years in the league for SV Atlas Delmenhorst before ending his career at TSV Verden .
