Giuliano di Piero de 'Medici (born March 25, 1453 - † April 26, 1478 in Florence ) was the second son of Piero di Cosimo de' Medici and his wife Lucrezia Tornabuoni and the younger brother of Lorenzo il Magnifico (1449-1492) . He was the father of Clement VII.

On January 29, 1475, he led the young, married Simonetta Vespucci to a tournament in Florence. He called her regina de la bellezza . Simonetta was portrayed and painted several times by Sandro Botticelli . Giuliano is also shown on Botticelli's monumental painting “ The Adoration of the Magi ” from 1476 .

Giuliano was murdered at the start of the Pazzi conspiracy in the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence by Francesco de 'Pazzi and Bernardo Bandini Baroncelli during the Easter mass on April 26, 1478.

He is buried next to his brother Lorenzo in the Medici Chapel of the Basilica di San Lorenzo di Firenze . Both graves are adorned with the Madonna and Child by Michelangelo .

His illegitimate son Giulio became cardinal in 1513 and ten years later as Clement VII Pope (1523-1534).
