Giuseppe Forti

Giuseppe Forti (born December 21, 1939 - July 2, 2007 ) was an Italian astronomer and asteroid discoverer .

His main field of work was celestial mechanics . Alongside Andrea Boattini, he was one of the initiators of the Aneopp project (Arcetri NEO Precovery Program) founded in 1999, which was promoted at the Arcetri Observatory (Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri) in Arcetri , a district of Florence , and was a collaborator in the CINEOS project. He was a member of Subdivision III (Planetary Systems Sciences) of the International Astronomical Union and worked there in Commissions 15 (Physical Study of Comets and Small Planets), 20 (Positions and Movements of Small Planets, Comets and Satellites) and 22 (Meteors, Meteorites and interplanetary dust) with.

The asteroid (6876) Beppeforti was named after him.
