Giuseppe Gabellone (* 1973 in Brindisi ) is an Italian photographer and sculptor .

life and work

Gabellone studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan.

He often creates his sculptures from raffia , straw , iron , clay , aluminum , mortar , brick and styrofoam . The end product is often the photography of these objects and not the object itself, which he destroys. He calls the sculptures that are permanent double sculptures . They can be viewed from different angles. Gabellone's photography only shows the sculpture from a perspective he has determined. He does not publish any editions and destroys the negative.

Giuseppe Gabellone exhibited at the Biennale of Sydney in 1998, at documenta11 in Kassel in 2002 , and at the Venice Biennale in 1997 and 2003 . He had numerous solo exhibitions.
