Giuseppe Perugini

Giuseppe Perugini OESA (born December 5, 1759 in Gradoli , † August 11, 1829 in Rome ) was an Italian bishop of the Curia .

Life

Perugini joined the order of the Augustinian Hermits and was ordained a priest for his order on November 10, 1782 . After becoming a master of theology on December 9, 1795, he spent the next five years as a regens in the Augustinian convent of Viterbo. There he rose to prior of the convent, after which he became prior of the convent of Sant'Agostino in Campo Marzio , general commissioner of the order and in October 1819 papal vice-sacristan at the side of his friar Giuseppe Bartolomeo Menocchio . Pope Pius VII appointed him on March 25, 1823, after the death of Menocchio, sacristan of His Holiness and on May 16 of the same year titular bishop of Porphyreon . The episcopal ordination donated to him on May 18, 1823 Francesco Cardinal Bertazzoli ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishops Pietro Caprano , secretary of the Congregation Propaganda Fide , and Antonio Baldini .

He died a few weeks after Pius VIII appointed him spiritual director of the Pia casa d'Industria .
