The Glück Auf Stolln was a mine on the Mittlerer Fastenberg in the Johanngeorgenstadt mining district in the western Ore Mountains .

history

The Glück-Auf-Stolln was 1672 northwest of Johanngeorgenstadt in the Schwarzwassertal at an altitude of 671  m above sea level. NN muted. According to legend, the tunnel was named after the miner's greeting that was given to Elector Johann Georg II of Saxony while passing through. At the end of the 17th century it was combined with the Neu-Glück treasure trove, which was located below the new manor mill on the Schwarzwasser near Johanngeorgenstadt.

After the cessation of mining in the Wismut object 01 , the pits were flooded and the waterway was left to its own devices. Since the mouth of the deepest mining tunnel , the St. Georg tunnel, was broken, the water found its way down the valley at shaft 122 lying Glück-Auf-Stolln . Here the pit water got into the black water . Since the Glück-Auf-Stolln has no mobile connection to the area, the waterway was disturbed and unknown. The level fluctuations in the area were up to 9 m. Since overcoming the Glück-Auf-Stollen would not bring the necessary success, the problem of the waterway was solved in 2008 with drainage bores on a deeper bed in the mouth hole area .

A few meters southwest of the actual Glück-Auf-Stollnmundloch, a tunnel was recreated in 1996 by the Schneeberg mountain security team and provided with a keystone. The Huthaus is - still available at the Black Straße - after several modifications.

In the vicinity of the Huthaus, the Rothe Bridge led over the Schwarzwasser until 1883 , which was a short route to the Rabenberg and Schießhausberg.
