The Glückauf-Arena is a soccer stadium with athletics facility in the Brambauer district of the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Lünen . The facility is the home of the BV Brambauer football club and the DJK SuS Brambauer athletics club .

history

The sports facility was originally built in the early 1970s under the name of the outdoor pool stadium . It was built with a natural lawn and a cinder track . In the 1980s, part of the main stand was roofed over. Eight floodlight masts , each with an output of 2,000  watts , were built. In the summer of 2012, the outdated floodlights were replaced by four modern masts with 8,000 watts each.

In 2007 the stadium was rebuilt and renamed the "Glückauf-Arena". The arena was equipped with artificial turf in “Champions League quality”, which has been certified with the FIFA seal of approval, which allows European Cups to be played in accordance with FIFA guidelines.

The space in the Glückauf Arena is around 3,500 (including around 150 covered seats). The athletics facility has a blue plastic track with four circular tracks and six tracks on the home straight, a plastic multifunctional field and a long jump facility.
