Gliozzi Peak

Gliozzi Peak is a 1475  m high mountain in the west Antarctic Ellsworthlands . It rises in the Douglas Peaks of the Heritage Range , the southern half of the Ellsworth Mountains . Only about 200 to 300 m of its total height are visible above the ice masses surrounding it. It is located on the western side of the Douglas Peaks, facing the Horseshoe Valley , about 5 km south of the Plummer Glacier .

The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1966 after the glaciologist James Gliozzi, who was involved in the South Pole Queen Maud Land Traverse as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program from 1964 to 1965.
