The Gneiskopf is a 2930 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises southwest of the Neustrujowberg at the southern end of the southern Petermann chain in the Wohlthat massif .
Discovery and naming
Participants in the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher discovered and named him. It is named after gneiss , a metamorphic rock that is predominant on this mountain.
