The Gneiss Point is a rocky headland on the Scott Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It protrudes 3 km north of Marble Point into McMurdo Sound and marks the southern boundary of the Bay of Sails .
Participants of the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott mapped them and named them after the gneiss they found there .
