Goethestrasse is one of the two circular streets that run across Clara-Zetkin-Strasse , Einsteinstrasse , Karl-Marx-Strasse and August-Bebel-Strasse and which are listed in the Dehio manual as an example of the radial road system of the so-called Lindenquartier whose buildings from the late 19th century in Radebeul are remarkably well preserved.

Development

The numbering of the house addresses begins on the main street on the southern side of the street, i.e. H. From there, numbers 1 to 15 run on the right-hand side of the street on August-Bebel-Strasse, east of this it goes to number 47 on the city limits of Dresden; on the left side of the street, after crossing Einsteinstraße, go to No. 40.

Many of the buildings on Goethestrasse are now listed and are therefore listed in the list of cultural monuments in Radebeul (district) , some of them under the addresses of side streets:

Naming

The path originally called Her (r) mannstraße was expanded into a street in 1884. After 1900 it was named Goethestrasse after the poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , which it still bears today.
