Golęczewo ( German : Golenczewo, Golenhofen 1906-18) is a local community of the municipality Suchy Las , Greater Poland Voivodeship , Poznań District, Poland .

The aristocratic village of Gołwiczewo was located in the Poznań District in the Poznań Voivodeship in 1580 . In the years 1975-1998 the place was administratively part of the Poznań Voivodeship.

In October 1901 the Royal Prussian Settlement Commission for West Prussia and Posen bought the village of Golęczewo (623 hectares) from the Polish aristocrat Zygmunt Błociszewski in order to create a so-called German model village in accordance with the goals of the German Eastern Brand Association . 530,000 marks (currency at the time) were paid for the manor. Since the village was neglected, preparatory work such as the road drainage as well as construction and equipment works were carried out. Only in 1903 was it approved to open the village to the reception of settlers. It should be a Protestant village with a high degree of self-sufficiency - this should include a prayer room / community center, a school , a gym, a bath, washing and baking house , a fire brigade and a proper water supply . The houses built in Golenhofen (the name of the village at that time) were kept in white, roofs, fences, boarding and other elements in red and black, the colors of the Prussian national flag. Horse and cow stables (2–4 horses and 8–10 cows) were also built. A teacher's apartment and a well with a wind motor to drive the village water pipeline were also planned .

The social life of the community was shaped by the conflict between two groups of settlers: the immigrants from the interior of the empire and the returnees from the east (the former considered themselves to be of higher quality and were preferred by the provincial administration in filling the community positions). Despite state efforts, the village did not become a model for the Polish population and its property status was in no way different from that of the Polish villages.

In order to demonstrate the achievements of German colonists, journeys to Golęczewo were organized for journalists, parliamentarians and dignitaries from various political classes (e.g. on May 24, 1909, June 6, 1910 and September 1913).

The evangelical cemetery on Dworcowa Street symbolizes a remnant of colonization .

In Golęczewo there is a football club , the GKS Golęczewo, a fire station, a school and a kindergarten . There is also a pharmacy in the village. The connection with Poznań is provided by the intercity buses 905 and 907 and the passenger trains in the direction of Poznań or Piła (Golęczewo stop). The 905 bus ends its journey at the bus turning loop at the Avenida shopping center, while the 907 bus ends at the Sobieskiego housing estate in Poznań. The Greater Poland Cycle Route (Transwielkopolska Trasa Rowerowa) runs through parts of the village. To the west of the village is the Samica Kierska Valley Nature Park.
