Golczewo (Stargard)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Golczewo (German Goltzow ) is a residential area in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland .

The residential area is located in Hinterpommern , about 30 km east of Stettin and about 5 km west of Stargard (Stargard in Pomerania) .

The living space was laid out in 1821 as the outworks of the manor of Schellin on the eastern edge of the Feldmark von Schellin on "hinterland". This happened within the framework of the regulation of the manorial and rural conditions (see: Prussian Agrarian Constitution ) by Schellin. The landowner von Schellin, a Freiherr von der Goltz , gave the Vorwerk the name Goltzow after his family , adding the originally Slavic suffix -ow , which often occurs in Pomeranian place names , to his family name Goltz . At the plant, 341 acres of land were allocated to the Vorwerk . The complex consisted of a house with a barn and stables.

Until 1945 Goltzow belonged as part of the municipality of Schellin to the Pyritz district of the Prussian province of Pomerania .

After the Second World War , Goltzow, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. Today the place is in the area of Gmina Stargard (rural community Stargard in Pomerania) .
