Golem! (alternative spelling also: Golem) is a 2001 founded and in New York -based klezmer band. The group combines traditional Eastern European musical styles with punk , rock and ska elements and interprets their pieces in different languages ​​such as English , Yiddish , Russian and Ladino .

Golem were founded! 2001 by the band leader Annette Hesekiel Kogan. The group described their style as "Eastern European folk punk ". Up to and including 2009, Golem! five CDs: the debut EP Golem (2001), Libeshmertzn (Love Hurts) (2002), Homesick Songs (2004), Fresh Off Boat (2006), Citizen Boris (2009) and Tanz (2014). As part of a European tour in 2010, the group also made a guest appearance in Germany . The band was accompanied by the Berlin DJ Yuriy Gurzhy , a collector of new Jewish grooves, who works closely with the author and DJ Wladimir Kaminer .

Members of the band in early 2011 were: the band's founder Annette Hesekiel Kogan (vocals, accordion), Aaron Diskin (vocals, tambourine), Alicia Jo Rabbins (violin), Curtis Hasselbring (trombone), the bassist Taylor Bergren-Chrisman and the drummer Tim Monaghan . The group's more recent releases were on JDub Records , a New York-based non-profit event production company that specializes in releasing the latest Jewish music.

Style and reviews
