Curtis Hasselbring

Curtis Hasselbring (* 1965 ) is a jazz trombonist (also guitarist ) and composer of the Modern Creative .

Live and act

Curtis Hasselbring, who grew up in the Midwest, studied at the New England Conservatory of Music from 1985 to 1988 and first played in the Either / Orchestra and from 1987 in the quintet of Charlie Kohlhase . In the 1990s, he initially focused on a tennis career before completing a master's degree at Rutgers University . In addition, he worked a. a. with Andrew D'Angelo , Benny Carter , Anthony Coleman , Satoko Fujii , Jerry Granelli , Tom Harrell , Bobby Previte, and Josh Roseman ; He also took part in productions by the Medeski, Martin & Wood , Jazz Passengers and Zoanthropic Orchestra . In the 2000s he was a member of the Klezmer band Golem and Frank London's Klezmer Brass Allstars . He also founded his ensemble The New Mellow Edwards with Chris Speed , Trevor Dunn and John Hollenbeck in 2004 , with whom he has so far released two albums of his own compositions; Another band project is Decoupage (with Mary Halvorson , Matt Moran , Satoshi Takeishi ). He also heads the Curha-chestra . In 2012 he also played in a trio with Oscar Noriega and Tom Rainey .
