Satoshi Takeishi

Satoshi Takeishi ( Japanese 武 石 さ と し , Takeishi Satoshi , born February 6, 1962 in Mito ) is a Japanese jazz musician ( drums , percussion ) and arranger .

Live and act

Takeishi studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston and during this time began to study Latin American music . In Colombia, the album Macumbia was created with Francisco Zumaqué . In 1986 he returned to the United States and initially lived in Miami, where he worked as an arranger. In 1987 he worked on the production of the album Morning Ride by Néstor Torres . In the following years he dealt with the music of the Middle East and studied with Joe Zeytoonian. From 1991 he lived in New York and worked as a musician a. a. with Ray Barretto , Patato Valdes , Eliane Elias , Marc Johnson , Eddie Gomez , Randy Brecker , Dave Liebman , Anthony Braxton , Mark Murphy , Herbie Mann , Paul Winter , Hector Martignon , Rabih Abou-Khalil , Toshiko Akiyoshi , Erik Friedlander , Sam Newsome , Ben Stapp and Pablo Ziegler . In Europe he was a member of Hans Tammen's Third Eye Orchestra .

Satoshi Takeishi is the brother of the electric bass player Stomu Takeishi .
