history

In 1980, Adar Golad founded Goliath BV in the Netherlands and, with strategy and action games, set the direction for the publishing house and its European subsidiaries in Germany, Belgium, Spain and France, among others. It all began with the game Rummikub : Even before the company was founded, Adi Golad discovered this game while on vacation in Israel and adopted the idea. In 1983 Rummikub was nominated for the "Game of the Year Netherlands" toy award. In Germany, Rummikub is distributed by Jumbo Spiele . In 1989 Goliath won the “Game of the Year Netherlands” award with the game Triominos . A German subsidiary was founded in September 2007.

The establishment on the German market took place, for example, through the action games “pigs rind”, “cheese kaos”, “Kackel Dackel” or the educational game “lattice puzzle”. Games such as “ Panic Tower! "Or" Triominos ". The publisher is thus pursuing a three-pillar strategy. The mainstay are family games like “Rolit”, “Loopit”, “Time No Time” or “Exago”. These games come in different versions for different age groups. Action games for children and young people such as “pigs rind”, “Bello Fass”, “Go! Gorilla ”,“ Nasty Flies ”,“ Kaos Cheese ”or“ Kackel Dackel ”have established themselves as a second pillar alongside the classic Goliath games and can sometimes also be used as party games. The third mainstay is made up of classic toys, for example “Domino Express”. There are different ways to build worlds with dominoes and several attractions, only to let them fall over again. The Robo Fish, which Goliath has been selling in Germany since 2013, was the number one top seller in September 2013 among companies with a turnover of 0-10 million euros.
