Gollimarkt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gollimarkt is a traditional fair that takes place on October 16 (commemoration day of St. Gall ) in Mals , the capital of the market town of Mals in Val Venosta . The Gollimarkt was set up together with the Georgimarkt in 1642 on the occasion of the elevation of the place to a market community by Archduchess Claudia de 'Medici .

The market threatened to disappear in the 1990s, but has been revived in recent years with the expansion of the traded goods to include agricultural products from the entire region around the border triangle Vinschgau- Engadin - Landeck .
