Gordon Minty
Gordon Minty (born March 23, 1948 ) is a former American long-distance runner of British origin.
At the British Commonwealth Games in 1974 he was starting eighth over 5000 m and 10,000 m for Wales .
In 1976 and 1979 he won the Detroit Marathon . In 1980 he was eighth in the US elimination race in the marathon for the Moscow Olympics and fifth in the Chicago Marathon . In 1981 he finished second in the Oregon Track Club Marathon and in 1982 seventh in the Houston Marathon .
In 1973 he became US champion over six miles .
