The Gossenbach is a brook in the communities of Matrei in Osttirol and St. Johann im Walde ( Lienz district ). It rises in the Villgraten mountains and flows into the Isel near Neugarten .
course
The Gossenbach rises in the border area of the municipal border between Matrei in Osttirol in the north and St. Johann im Walde in the south, not far from the border to Hopfgarten in Defereggen in the west. The source area lies between the Rudnig in the south and the Naßfeld in the north. After passing the tree line, the Gossenbach flows in an easterly direction through wooded area, always flowing in the border area of the communities of Matrei and St. Johann. In the middle course, the Gossenbach passes the elevated Gossenalm and the Gsengalm on the left before it enters the Iseltal in the lower reaches . Here it flows between Kienburg in the north and Neugarten in the south of the Isel, into which it joins on the right.
