Gotho Griesmeier

Gotho Griesmeier (* 1971 in Linz ) is an Austrian opera singer .

Life

After graduating from the Linz Musikgymnasium, she later studied singing at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz with Andreas Lebeda and Thomas Kerbl .

Since 2006 she has been a permanent member of the opera and operetta ensemble at the Landestheater Linz . She took part in several opera premieres by Philip Glass , Ernst Ludwig Leitner and Helmut Schmidinger . She has also appeared at concerts and guest performances, for example in Modena , Ferrara , at the Brahms Festival Mürzzuschlag and in Sanlucar de Barrameda (Spain), at the Munich Biennale and at the Upper Austrian Collegiate Concerts and with Franz Welser-Möst .

Furthermore, she played some leading roles in operettas , such as E.g. Hanna Glawari in Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow or the Rössl landlady in Ralph Benatzky's Im Weiße Rössl .

Griesmeier is politically committed to the ÖVP Alberndorf and is chairman of the works council at the Landestheater Linz.

Private

Gotho Griesmeier is married to the musician, bandmaster and local politician Peter Griesmeier, has four children and lives in Alberndorf in the Riedmark region .
