Andreas Lebeda

Andreas Lebeda (born February 1, 1957 in Gmunden ) is an Austrian singer (baritone), pianist , conductor and music teacher (professor for singing at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz ).

Life

Andreas Lebeda received his first musical training in Steyr and studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg (singing, piano, conducting, music education) and at the University of Salzburg (German language and literature). Master classes took him to Elisabeth Schwarzkopf , Kurt Widmer , Burga Schwarzbach and Elisabeth Grümmer . He received decisive suggestions in the class of Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the “Mozarteum” and as a student of Kurt Widmer at the Basel Music Academy .

Concert activity

In 1990 he made his operatic debut under René Jacobs in Montpellier and Innsbruck; Since then, concerts, recitals and opera productions have taken him to major music centers in Europe, South Africa, Japan and the USA as well as to numerous international festivals (Semaine Sainte Arles, Festival Barocco Viterbo, Sorø Festival, Klangbogen Wien, Estiu de Music de Catalunya, Festival Weeks of the Early Music Innsbruck, Festival Moulin d'Andé, Bregenz Spring, International Bruckner Festival Linz, Printemps des Arts Monte Carlo, Brahms! -Festival Mürzzuschlag, La folle Journée Nantes and many more). Under Manfred Honeck he sang Mozart's Requiem in Gothenburg and Franz Schmidt's Book with Seven Siegeln in Oslo with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. He made his debut in the USA in 1999, followed by Mahler's Rückert-Lieder with the National Gallery Orchestra, a Schubert-Eisler evening in the renowned Phillips Collection, Schubert's Schwanengesang in Washington and Brahms' Schöne Magelone in Houston. In 2001 he made his New York debut at the Weill Recital Hall (Carnegie), and in 2002 he sang songs by Friedrich Cerha at the opening of the ACF New York. Opera productions in recent years included the world premiere of the opera Ria nackt by Renald Deppe / Bodo Hell / Othmar Schmiderer (Donaufestival Krems), Pergolesi's La serva padrona in Brussels, the Austrian premiere of Siegfried Matthus' chamber opera Kronprinz Friedrich (Friedrich Wilhelm - Linz and Berlin) , Ascanio ré d'Alba by Johann Joseph Fux in Herne and in 2011 the role of Salieri in Mozart and Salieri by Nikolaj Rimskij-Korsakov at the Moulin d 'Andé Festival (France / Normandy).

Teaching

Andreas Lebeda taught at the Mozarteum Salzburg and has been leading a class for singing and vocal ensemble at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz since 1992 ; after completing his habilitation, he became an Ao in 2008. University professor of singing appointed. He is the head of the Kepler consortium in Linz and the initiator of the highly regarded song and chamber music series “vokal.isen”.
