Kurt Widmer

Kurt Widmer (born December 28, 1940 in Wil , St. Gallen ) is a Swiss singing teacher and singer ( baritone ).

Life

Widmer studied violin and singing at the Zurich Conservatory with Ria Ginster , then attended master classes with Franziska Martienssen-Lohmann and her husband Paul Lohmann in Lucerne and Wiesbaden and with Burga Schwarzbach in Vienna .

He has been a concert singer in Switzerland and internationally since 1966. When mixed choir Zurich , he worked from 1967 to 1992 as a soloist in oratorios and concerts 24. His son Oliver Widmer is also a well-known baritone and the husband of Cecilia Bartoli .
