Gottfried Bartels
Gottfried Bartels (born July 2, 1866 in Gütersloh ; † July 23, 1945 in Bethel ) was President of the Consistory in Westphalia.
Life
After dropping the first State examination in 1889 and subsequent clerkship Gottfried Bartels was on 21 March 1894 the second state examination Gerichtsassessor . Used as assistant judge for two years, on March 4, 1898, he was employed as an unskilled worker in the Münster Consistory. After a short time he went to the Münster district court as an assistant judge and then to the Altena district court for two years. Returned to the Münster Consistory on May 5, 1902, he was appointed Consistorial Assessor on March 6, 1903. With the appointment to the Konsistorialrat on April 1, 1903, the transfer to the Konsistorium Berlin followed. In 1911 he switched to administration and until his appointment as Consistorial President in Münster on April 18, 1925, he was employed by the governments in Liegnitz and Minden - most recently as a government director. Bartels was a (secular) assessor in the Provincial Synod from 1920 to 1925 and a member of the Provincial Council of Churches from 1925 until he retired on October 1, 1933. At Christmas 1932 he was awarded an honorary theological doctorate by the University of Münster .
