Gottfried Wilhelm Bueren
Gottfried Wilhelm Bueren (* 1801 in Papenburg , † 1859 in Meppen ) was the German town councilor of Emden . However, he became known as a song writer.
Life
Born as the son of the judge Bernhard Gottfried Bueren , he attended the universities of Münster and Göttingen . There he became a member of Frisia Göttingen in 1817 and later of the Göttingen fraternity of Westfalia . In autumn 1820 he received his doctorate in law and came to Emden that same year as city secretary . In 1838 he was appointed city syndic . For the freedom movement of 1848 he was passionate about word, deed and writing. He was elected as a deputy to the state assembly in Hanover .
At the beginning of the 1850s, Bueren left Emden and moved to Meppen , where he worked as a senior judge until his death in 1859. He was married twice and had four children.
His songs and poems - he also wrote in Low German - made him widely known. A street in Emden has been named after him.
