Gottfried M. Wolff
Father Gottfried M. Wolff OSM (* 1958 in Bayreuth in Bavaria) is Prior General of the Servite Order . Until September 21, 2013 he was Provincial of the Tyrolean Province of the Servite Order, which includes six monasteries in Austria and the only German monastery of the order in Gelsenkirchen-Buer .
Father Wolff made his first profession on June 4, 1981 after the novitiate in Canada . After studying theology in Innsbruck, he was ordained a priest on June 25, 1988 in Regensburg . He then worked as a chaplain in Viehhausen and then in Gelsenkirchen-Buer. Since 1991 he has been a pastor in the Servite parish in Düsseldorf-Rath , and since 1997 again in Gelsenkirchen-Buer. Father Gottfried M. Wolff was introduced to his office on February 6, 2006 as the new Provincial of the Tyrolean Province and the German delegation of the Servite Order. After his re-election by his confreres in November 2008, Father Gottfried M. was confirmed as Provincial in February 2009 by the Prior General of the Servites, Ángel M. Ruiz Garnica for the period of office from 2009 to 2012. Since September 21, 2013 he has been Prior General of the Servites.
The seat of the provincial of the Tyrolean Servite Order is in the monastery in Innsbruck .
