Gottlieb Ephraim Berner

Gottlieb Ephraim Berner (born May 14, 1671 in Hoym ; † April 15, 1741 in Duisburg ) was a German physician .

Life

Gottlieb Ephraim Berner was the son of the lawyer David Berner , attended the Illustre high school in Zerbst and then studied medicine in Frankfurt / Oder , Wittenberg and with Friedrich Hoffmann in Halle . On March 5, 1697 he received his doctorate in Halle .

On April 11, 1709 he became associate professor of medicine in Halle. In 1719 he became a full professor at the University of Duisburg .

On June 22, 1725 Gottlieb Ephraim Berner with the academic surname Mnaseas was elected member ( matriculation no. 382 ) of the Leopoldina .

Berner was married to Anna Catharina Bode , the daughter of the Protestant theologian Gerhard Bode . The legal scholar Heinrich Bode was his brother-in-law.
