Thank God Sebastian von Lucke
Gottlob Sebastian von Lucke (* 1745 in Belentschin , Siedlec municipality , Poznan Voivodeship in Poland-Lithuania , † October 27, 1762 in Leipzig ) was a German poet .
Life
Lucke enrolled at the Collegium Carolinum in Braunschweig on January 16, 1760 . He died at the age of 17 in Leipzig when he was on his way from Braunschweig to his parents, according to a letter from Gellert .
Friedrich Wilhelm Zachariae published posthumously Luckes Olint and Sophronia , a poem in three songs, written in blank verse . Eight other poems by Luckes were also attached to the volume: Hymne , Faith , In the Country , Lament at the Grave of a Child , To My Home , To Spring , On July 15th, 1761, and A Prayer .
