action

Countess Gyllenhand has hired a new housemaid. That Karoline Blume looks strikingly similar to her and, as a theater enthusiast, is also a gifted amateur actress. One day the Count's couple is on a journey. Thereupon Countess kitchen fairy Karoline disguises herself as her landlady and gives a reception and a supper for the sovereign. Since he should not sit alone at the table, the remaining domestics are condemned to play the table guests.

The festivity gets a little out of hand, and as a result, the real Countess who has returned home is arrested for disturbing the peace. She is rather embarrassed about this, and so the high-born uses the same trick as her housemaid before: she pretends to be her alter ego and claims that she is not Countess Gyllenhand, but only the housemaid Blume. Reunited at home, the two women confess their respective white lies, and everything is back to normal.
