This post is a supplement to the main article Gröben , village and district of Ludwigsfelde in the Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg . Two historical maps reproduced in the main article are explained here in more detail than would be useful in the context of the main article. In addition to the main article, another map shows how Gröben is embedded today in the core area of the Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park .

Map, Gröben around 1683

The section on a scale of approx. 1: 12.500 comes from sheet 13 of Suchedoletz's Atlas of Potsdam ( Samuel de Suchedoletz ) and shows Gröben around 1683.

The map shows the castle wall enclosed by the Alte Nuthe north of Gröbener Kietz . The Nieplitz , which was called Moder at the time, flows west of the Burgwiesen . The courses of the rivers differ considerably from the positions at the beginning of the third millennium. The term `` Hüte unter vom Kietz '' refers to a pasture with a guard. The location of the central church square in Gröben has not changed since 2004. At the Weer south of the Gröbener See the water passage to the Siethener See, which was then as well as now, connects; The connecting road between Gröben and Großbeuthen with the branches to Siethen and Jütchendorf runs through this narrow area between the two lakes . In the south-west corner of the still existing and also so called Jütchendorfer vineyard is drawn with a tripartite division, which allocates the cultivation area to one third each to Gröben, Siethen and Jütchendorf.

Map from 1791

Detail from the old col. Copper engraving by Franz Johann Joseph von Reilly from 1791: Zauchischer and Luckenwaldischer Kreis .

The engraving by Reilly shows the old course of the Nuthe with its ramifications. To the north of Gröben near Saarmund , the Nuthe forms various branches. The largest tributary, the Saare gave Saar-mouth as Saare - mouth her name. Even further north between Philippsthal and Bergholz (today Bergholz-Rehbrücke ), the Nuthe encloses a small island, similar to the Gröben Castle. At this point in front of today's Drewitz , on the site of today's Drewitz castle fishery, the Nuthe castle from the 12th century was located, the evidence of which Theodor Fontane searched in vain in Saarmund and, as we know today, could not find there . At the time, Fontane stated with resignation: The Nutheburgen only tease him and are like the Fatamorgana of this breeding desert. When he thinks he has it, he hears the midday spirit laugh, the picture melts away and - the Nutheburgen are further away from him than before.

As the map clearly shows, the Trebbin castle wall was also surrounded by the Nuthe. In the south-west, the Saxon lettering near the villages of Stangenhagen and Schönhagen indicates the Saxon enclave in the middle of Prussia ; see in detail on this Stangenhagen . The lakes following the Blankensee are the Grössinsee and Schiaßer See , then the Gröbener and at the end of the chain the Siethener See.

Gröben can no longer be reached by motor vehicle via the Saarmund- Tremsdorf-Gröben connection, as the typical Brandenburg avenue between Tremsdorf and the Gröbener Kietz has been closed. The approach from the Potsdam / Berlin region must therefore be made either via Siethen or Fahlhorst. From this direction, i.e. from the north or east, Gröben can be approached / driven through and the piece to Kietz can also be covered. Cyclists can use the direct Tremsdorf-Gröben road, but have to be prepared for cobblestones. (As of 2006)

The following map shows the core area of the Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park with Gröben on the northern edge.
