geography
course
The Grümpel rises south of the Tschirn community at an altitude of approx. 606 meters. The stream initially flows south through a wooded area. At the small Eisenquelle pond, the Tiefenbach flows into the Grümpel from the left. East of Wilhelmsthal -Effelter it flows through a deeply cut valley. At Steinwiesen -Birnbaum it is fed from the left by the Dorfbach and at Wilhelmsthal-Lahm the Gottlersbach flows into the Grümpel from the left. Shortly afterwards (approx. 40 m) the Kugelbach flows to the right and the Steinbach after approx. 200 m. South of Wilhelmsthal-Hesselbach, its water is strengthened from the left by the Sperlesbach. Finally, the Glasbach and the Schindelbach flow to it from the left. At Wilhelmsthal it unites with the Kremnitz to the Kronach (mouth height approx. 356 m).
