history

The oldest mention of the street green village with the spelling Grunenvelde is from 1379 . In 1412 the place was mentioned as Grunefelt and in 1450 as Grunfelde . Since 1684 the spelling of the place name has been fixed to today's Grünefeld.

In 1450 the Lords of Bredow are listed as the owners of the village. Shortly afterwards the local families Schwante and Redern zu Beetz were enfeoffed with parts of Grünefeld. At the beginning of the 17th century the place became a manor . In 1697 Grünefeld was devastated after a fire . In 1802 the place was destroyed by another fire and rebuilt shortly afterwards.

Since 1992 it has belonged to the Nauen-Land Office in Brandenburg, and since 2003 it has been part of the Schönwalde-Glien community.
