The green Waldsänger ( Setophaga virens , Syn. : Dendroica virens ) is a small Vogelaus the kind of the tree Waldsänger ( Setophaga ) in the family of Waldsänger (Parulidae).
The top plumage, crown, and markings on the yellow face are olive green. It has white wing rods on the black to black-gray wing-covers. The underside plumage is light yellow with black stripes on the flanks. In the male, the throat and breast plumage are black, in the female there are black spots on the breast. The small beaks are thin and pointed.
Green Warbler feed mostly on insects . In winter, they add berries and fruits to their menu .
The breeding areas are in mixed forests or cypress swamps in eastern North America and in northern and western Canada . In winter they move to South Florida and Central America, for example. B. Mexico .
The brown-headed cowbird ( Molothrus ater ) is a common parasite of the Grünwald warbler.
