Graeme Pearson

Graeme Pearson (born April 1, 1950 ) is a Scottish politician and a member of the Labor Party .

Life

Pearson attended St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in Glasgow and then studied at the University of Glasgow . He then worked for the Strathclyde Police Department and eventually became Director of the Scottish Crime and Narcotics Administration . He then worked as an honorary professor at the University of Glasgow and became director of the Institute for Studies on Serious Organized Crime. Pearson is married with one daughter.

Political career

At the Scottish general election in 2011 Pearson stood for the Labor Party. However, he did not apply for the direct mandate of a constituency, but was set on the party's regional electoral list for the electoral region of South Scotland . After the Labor Party had not received any list mandates in this electoral region since the Scottish Parliament opened in 1999, it won two in the 2011 elections. In addition to his party colleague Claudia Beamish , Pearson moved into the Scottish Parliament for the first time.
