Graeme Storm (born March 13, 1978 in Hartlepool , England ) is an English professional golfer on the European Tour .

He had a very successful amateur career in which he won The Amateur Championship in 1999 and was invited to the Masters of the following year. In the same year Storm was part of the victorious Walker Cup team of Great Britain and Ireland. After making history at the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club in 2000 - there was never a combination of golfer and mother as caddy - Storm became a professional golfer that year .

He immediately managed to qualify for the 2001 European Tour through the Tour School and was able to assert himself there until 2002. Then Storm had to go to the second- ranked Challenge Tour , where he achieved two tournament victories in 2004 and won the right to play for the main tour by taking third place in the annual ranking. The 2005 season went very well for Storm and he ended up in 31st place on the European Tour Order of Merit . He climaxed with a second place at the prestigious Smurfit European Open. In 2006 he was again able to attract attention with good placements. In July 2007 Storm achieved the first victory on the big tour, at the Open de France .
