Gramavision Records

Gramavision Records is an American music label that is dedicated to both jazz and new music .

The label was founded in 1980 in New York City by Jonathan Rose, who published more than 75 records on this initially independent label by the early 1990s. The jazz musicians supervised included John Scofield , Bob Moses , Jay Hoggard , James Newton , Tony Dagradi , Anthony Davis , Jamaaladeen Tacuma , Oliver Lake , John Carter , Ray Anderson and Bobby Previte . The label also released works by La Monte Young (about a five-LP box of his The Well Tuned Piano ) and Terry Riley, as well as CDs by the Kronos Quartet . The label was taken over as a sub-label by Rykodisc in 1994 .
