Grandstar Cargo was a cargo airline based in Tianjin , People's Republic of China . The airline was established as a joint venture between Sinotrans Air Transportation Development Co., Ltd. (51%), Korean Airlines Co., Ltd. (25%), Hana Capital Co., Ltd. (13%) and Shinhan Capital Co., Ltd. (11%) founded. The airline hoped for synergy effects from the pooling of know-how in the cargo flight business of Korean Airlines and the logistics partner Sinotrans with the largest Chinese network. In May 2012 Sinotrans announced that Grandstar Cargo would be liquidated after losses in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
